I want to buy a fuel pin for my pump. I'm going to be putting in the 3200 gov. spring in my pump and want to put a pin in at the same time. Who makes them, and whos pin do you reccomend?

I have the same question. But to say grind it yourself? Where? how much? Dont assume that we've all had these pumps apart. I'm a little worried still. Please direct to some more detailed info on how to if it exists.

Rebel... I was also hesitant to start hacking up my fuel pin... but I succumed to the bomb bug and did some mild grinding. It did make a difference I can tell you that.

I probably will "dress it up" a little more before too long.

Bottom line is you can always rotate it a little to get back to a more stock position.

I wil say to not grind too much off- leave at least half of the narrowest part still intact.

You have to ask yourself if you want all-out performance, or do you want lower bottom end smoke (wasted $3+/gal fuel) but still get the same full throttle pull as you would in the max position? I opted for the latter, and when I set the pin to the "deep" setting, it actually takes away some of my peak power- about 3-4psi.

I have 2 planes- I started at the top, cutting about halfway through, then tapered it down the cone to fade out about halfway down. Make sure you have a smooth surface, then do a test when you install it. Put your spring in place, put the diaphragm in, then as you push against the spring, pull on the throttle lever, causing the guide pin to rub on the AFC pin. This will leave a mark. Pull the diaphragm out and see where the marks ran, and rotate pin if needed.

Hope this turns some of the mud into pea soup. ;)

Pictures would be cool. The only knowledge I have of these pumps is from reading these posts and a PDF sent to me on VE's. (Thanks Jay) To this point I still don't know if the cone is different from the pin, or if the pin rides on the cone or what? Perhaps when I pull mine apart it will become clearer. I have a 3200 Gov Spring and 16 CM2 ordered from PDR. Maybe when I do the spring I'll see it better.

What does this foot grinding trick do? And where and how much there also. This has opened up a can of worms for me. Should I do only one thing at a time or all at once while its opened?

This is much more fun that plugging "boxes" in.
