Anyone know where I can get a detailed manual just for the VE pump? I've got a real basic one by Bosch but it is a general VE book, not 6 cylinder and very vague I think. Thanks guys for help.

Get on over to a Cummins distributor/dealer and look for:
"Injection Pumps and Injectors" - Bulletin # 3666037.
"B Series Shop Manual" - Bulletin #3666017-01.
These two are good reference manuals.
As Power Wagon has said... don't attempt to pull apart and "adjust" the pump.
The Cummins guy should be able to punch in the bulletin (part) numbers and price them out.

Hey Nacho,
I've gotten pretty good info/advice off of the forums, that would by my first thought. As far as a manual goes, since Cummins buys pumps from the suppliers and only deals with
pump repairs on a swap out basis, about the best you could do is to make friends with your local pump shop and see if they will let you get your nose in their shop manuals occasionally. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Jones has it pretty much right. Bosch and Bosch dealers aren't going to sell you a detailed pump manual... Cummins might have something, however.

BTW, why do you want one? I really DO NOT reccommend you do much more than replace external seals and turn a screw or two here and there.

Even that can get you into trouble...

Thanks guys, I want the manuals just because I work at a Dodge dealer and even though most of the pumps aren't servicable it's much easier to diagnose a problem if you know exactly how it's supposed to operate and normal movements because you know some guys just start messing with adjustments because the pump has them. The 7100 pump has pretty good info and easy to understand so I can speak intelligently with Bosch when sending pumps and injectors over. Anyway, thanks.
