Hey Guys,

Looking to put together a fun 2 wheel drive drag racer CTD. From a power prospective, which pump gives the most flexibility in making power and reliablity? I am assuming the 12V P Pumps are probably the best, but I wanted to ask you guys to get your opinions.

My personal opinion is that the P-7100 injection pump off a 12 Valve would be the way to go. A few issues ago in Diesel Power magazine Doc Sadler from Dr. Performance put 1100hp to the crank... he used a P-7100. Just my opinion though. - Buck

I love my p-pump, but I would almost have to say the CR. Don't get me wrong, you can make awesome power with the p-pump and it is proven. The CR gives you the ability to from 400 to 850 with the push of a button, and gives you awesome drivability. Reb's truck does 893 and get 24 mpg, thats hard to argue with. Actually, i think it comes easier on the CR too. All the power on Reb truck is done with a stock head (untouched), stock head gasket, stock cam. That ain't gonna happen on a 12 valve.

yes as of right now the p pump is KING, however with the cr and the current technology available for them, what will be coming down the line, I can personally tell you (having been a part of the floor it modified cp3 pumps) that the potential of the cp3 fuel flow, and the fact that it allows you to have adjustable timing on the fly it will soon be KING
