How difficult is it to change out the VE Pump - number of hours, etc. ?

Mine is still running but at 400,000 miles the symptoms of imminent demise are present.

Thanks, in advance. . . . .

I just pulled a pump. Still have diesel on my hands ;)

It took four hours. That was fix'n two burgers ( in the microwave) and looking over the threads on TDR about half way through :)

These are some valuable tips I have yet to see posted here;

Injection line removal order. You can't git to all them line nuts at the same time you know. Loosen and remove line nuts from all the injectors. Loosen and remove the line nuts from pump @ delivery valve for cylinders # 4,2 DO NOT try to fish out line # 4,2 at this time.

Remove line number 1 then 2 then 6,3,5,4 in this order. I tag 'em so I know at a glance what line goes where. A typical tag would say, "line #6, towards rear of engine,top line" OR "line #2, towards front of engine, middle line"

The lines are stacked three high across the head. OBVIOUSLY... you can't fasten down the top line first!!

I install in reverse order of removal.

I'm sure there are some guys who can simply look at a pile of six lines and pick out line # 3 and "know" that it connects to the far back delivery valve.
