I have a tractor that has a bosch ve pump and the tractor is using oil, could there be anyway it could be sucking oil through th IP? I never checked compression but it starts real easy and seems to have good power. it smokes some on startup and little when you tap the throttle.

Negative on that! ;) The case is pressurized on the VE, so oil can't get in. It's also not oil lubed like a P-pump. If a seal goes, you'll have fuel in the base.

I would suspect the turbo, if it has one, or valve seals. Or an external leak.

Hope this helps!

thanks, I did not think that it could but I dont know much about mechanics. I knew there was no oil feed line to the pump. It does not have a turbo either.
