Hey Everyone,

I am new to TDR and am in the process of resealing the injection pump on my 89' D-250. Is there any good writeups on resealing or rebuiliding our pumps? I have been following some writeups from other sources but figure it is best to cover all the bases to insure it gets done right.

Thanks,

Matt

Yeah, I just followed the teardown in the sticky on the DTR forum and had access to an awesome injections shop nearby who helped me get her back together and timed properly. I also used the VE parts diagram from DTR as well to put it back together.

Not sure that thread covers re-assembly too well, if at all. There is alot of missing information. Not to discredit the author... but that's just where it's at right now based on his time. Re-assembly is critical I would venture to say. If I was going to take mine to a shop... I'd probably not tear it down at all. I bet the tech who does it has his own way of doing things and wouldn't appreciate a box of parts as much as a complete pump in one piece.

The only problem I have with my pump is the KSB cover plate on the engine side of the pump is dripping. No way to get to it really unless I remove the pump. But having a shop reseal the pump is probably what I should do... just not fix the one seal.

Yeah, I can understand where you are coming from. My governor shaft seal was leaking. I replaced the seals and went in and worked with one of the techs to get it timed and reassembled. They are some really good guys at the Injection shop where I went. The only thing left is to get it mounted up properly and reassemble the front end of the truck and see how she goes.
