Vehicle tracking

I have been following my truck through the "Insight" website and the status is now "loaded on rail-car" in Laredo, Texas.

Is it still possible to track the vehicle while on the rail system? If so, how? They are allowing 8 days to go from Laredo to Bencia, California (San Fransisco) is that accurate or is there a buffer period built in?

Thanks for any info...

go to www.up.com then to customer then to automoble then to vehicle trace. you will need the railcar # to put in . mine sat in lorado for 6 days before moving. your dealer will have to get you a railcar #. good luck mine is just going into idaho should be about 3 days to get to spokane .

My truck was going to take 10 days from Laredo to Benicia, the railcar finally made it to Benicia today, 21 days later. The eta keeps getting extended too. This is getting really old since the truck was completed at the factory 03/25.

Yup-- My truck has been built for over a week, and it sits waiting to be loaded on railcar in Mexico. Every day Insight updates to the next day. Maybe something about getting enough cargo to make the trip worthwhile? Wonder when I'll be in Benicia...

If you look at the page carefully in Insight, there's an area at the top that shows the vehicle status. Under that, there's an entry called Current Location. I've been tracking my truck since it left the factory. It's currently in Decatur, IL, and will be stopping in Toledo, OH before going to a car hauler. What is your VIN?



I sure hope it makes it here before the 20th as that's the day me and the family leave for a trip to D. C. I'd love nothing more than taking the new truck.

I've got the VIN & the VON... . but it doesn't come up on the VINVISION yet... . any ideas where the truck is?

Your truck won't show up for quite a while. Mine was ordered on 2/12, and didn't show up until about a month and a half ago. How do you have your VIN already? That seems odd that it wouldn't show up if you have the VIN. You can try looking for all vehicles that your dealership has ordered to see if it's in there. You'll have to know your dealership number though.

My truck is now shown on the insight website to be at "Port of Laredo" with a "railcar mechanical hold", don't know what that means but I am sure the delivery date will begin to push back. We'll see...

Ordered mine on 4/14 Got the VIN on 4/30 but it still hasn't shown up on insight DC told me that is was tentively scheduled to be built next week, nothing in concrete though yet. Dealer tells me there is still an issue with a lack of anti-lock axles although DC says there aren't any holds.



So here I wait Oo.

I ordered mine on 03-04, however, it didn't show up on insight until 04-07 when it went D1. Apparently it wont show until it is "in line" to be built. Be aware that mine went D1 on 04-07 and sat at that status until 04-27 when it showed up as "KZ", plant release. From reading others stories mine sounds pretty average. Good luck, keep us posted.

the truck i ordered was on schedule or a little ahead of insight network. was to be delivered to dealer on 5/17 and i am picking it up tomorrow from tomeygun. check signature for dates.

I ordered mine on 4/16 and just got my VIN yesterday. Insight has it Scheduled to be built (D1) 04-30-04 06:57 AM CDT but no other info since, is there any way to track what stage of the build it's in ???

I've been watching the web site, non-stop, for the last week or so. I've watched my truck ride the train from Saltillo, through Texas, Missouri, and Illinois. It'll be in Toledo today, but it still says it won't be at the dealership until the 21st.



I don't know if having Insight is a blessing or a curse!!

I ordered my truck on 3/12/04 and order went in 3/15/04, my truck went to Code KM on 5/3/04. I been calling every day to DC and all I get is that it is still in Saltito, truck was supposed to be here last Monday and DC is telling me they are not getting updates, I am confused. My VIN is 3D7LU38X4G239869. Any one that help sure would appricate it, thanks.

Your VIN is missing one character. I think there's a number missing betweenthe X and G. If you post the correction, I'll trace it for you. Another way is if you know your dealer code.
