Due to failing health, my dad has decided to part with his 1978 Ford F-250 4x4. He is the original owner. The truck was purchased for his use during his tenure as Fire Chief with the local volunteer fire department. It was fitted with a 10' utility body, ladder rack, Generac 4KwH gasoline generator, and front winch bumper. When he retired in 1992, he purchased the truck from the county. This is when it was first titled. It has been used as a farm truck since. Here are a few of the specific details.
29,000 original miles (+/- 900 engine hours)
400ci V-8/ 2bbl
C-6 automatic (overhauled in 1992 due to a sticking valve body)
full time 2 speed transfer case
automatic hubs
dual fuel tanks
Jacobs 10' utility body
Generac 4KwH generator (+/- 67 hours)
winch bumper
Overall condition is excellent. The material on the bench seat is original with no flaws. There are no cracks in the dash. It has a AM/FM/CD in dash. It has a newer fuel pump and alternator. All emergency equipment is still intact and can be sold with it or removed. It can be sold with the original factory Firestone tires, or with the aftermarket wheels/ BFG AT's that are on it. The engine has always been soaked with a block heater, so not much in the way of cold starts.
Any ideas on what it is worth?
