Velvet Ride Shackles

OK, tried a search but didn't find much about these for first gens. All the info I have been able to get says they are available from 94 and up.



Has anyone found a source for a 93? I would like to try them and was considering getting a set for a 94 to see if they would work but I did find a post that said they would NOT work on a 93.



Also, is there any difference in the rear spring setup between a D and W series truck? I'm talking for a 93 or 92.



Any one already looked into this?

Take a hard look at the spring mountings and schakles(sp). I tried installing them on my truck and found out that I would have to drill out the the rivets that mount to the frame and turn the schakle(sp) mounting bolts around to get the job done. I had to send them back.

Bob, did you buy a set for a 93 or did you get a 94? I'll look tomorrow and see how the shackle bolts are installed. Could the bolt heads be cut off and new bolts put in the other way?

I just looked at mine again and from what I see you will have to take the entire spring down to do the job right - but it looks "doable"
