My vent tube is making a mess on the bottom of the truck, and driveway. I have read about the bottle fix and will do that this weekend, but I was wondering what is the problem with venting the engine to the intake?
There is no practical way to vent your blowby to your intake. If you plumb it before the air filter you'll mess it up. If you vent it between the air filter and turbo you'll mess up your turbo. If you pipe it anywhere between your turbo and inlet to your engine you'll blow every seal out of your engine because of the high air pressure (not to mention you'll mess up your intercooler).
Sticking a bottle with plenty of venting from it works fine. Drill holes in the sides and keep an eye on it in the winter so it doesn't get ice in there and freeze up . . . you'll definitely blow out your seals and gaskets and create a lot of headaches.
