Verify or Deny?

Can anyone verify or deny that next year there will no more VW or MC diesel versions avaiable in the US. My wife and I were looking at a TDI Golf and the salesman said he heard rumors that because of US emissions they were no longer going to import the diesels.

That wouldn't be good news if true. I looked into a TDI a couple months ago and all the literature says TDI is still available in Golf, Jetta, Jetta Wagon, and Beetle. Salesman didn't mention anything, but anytime you mention Diesel, they're thinking "special order, no sale today", even had one salesman say he was going to work for Chevy dealership, and that "you don't want this VW diesel, the new Chevy Diesel is the better than anything out there"! Now can you imagine the logic there, I'm in the market for a Diesel commuter car, and this idiot thinks he's going to steer me to a V-8 truck Diesel? Incredible.
