12Valve Altenator hook up to FORD

Lift kits and tires....

I have just about worn out the pages of the August '07 issue of DieselPower magazine checking this truck out. It is one of the cleanest and most factory-looking conversions I have seen. Make that THE cleanest and most factory-looking... here's a photo of it I found online: J&H Performance - Your Diesel Performance Solution

But it is the engine compartment that really impresses me. There is a link under the photo that will let you download the entire magazine article and photos.

The truck belongs to Troy Chambers of Anderson, CA according to the article. He works for J&H Performance in Redding. His boss's shop has been inundated with calls from guys who have seen the truck at shows and want to buy the conversion "kit", which does not exist. It is a one-off and his daily driver, hay and horse hauler, and has seen some sled pulling, too.

It has everything and then some! Power heated seats, even. I am really impressed with the detailing; such as how he hooked up the factory heating and a/c on the Chevy and made it look so factory. It is a good article, and great photos, but I think they should have devoted half the issue to it.

I was really hoping a search here might find some info on that conversion, or maybe even Troy himself. I have the same exact truck 8 years newer and in single-rear-wheel version that I would love to do that same conversion to if I could do it that well.

Has anybody seen this truck in person or have more information on it?

I see you're doing a 1-ton Suburban Cummins/NV4500 conversion. How's that going? Are you using a NP205 t-case? Should be the ultimate SUV when you're done. I 'd love to see photos and read the details of your experience.

I would be interested in more info on that crossmember and motor mount kit you mentioned, too.

I have a killer 454 on an engine stand for my big ol' crewcab K-30, but I would really love to do a Cummins conversion instead. It's an awesome 1-of-a-kind custom leather and oak interior front-and-rear-bucket seat truck that I have already done the suspension to silky smooth perfection on. A Texas no-rust truck, too. It has mostly been parked for the past 9 years since I bought my Cummins Dodge, but that's only because of the fuel economy of the Cummins. It still brings a big smile to my face when I drive it and, on those 35" BFG Mud Terrains, it commands alot of respect wherever I drive it. If I don't do something with it soon, I might succumb to one of the offers I frequently get and my 14-year-old son will never forgive me. .

My burb is basicly done and i have driven it about a 1/4 mile and put it backin the shop to do the last items of the build now im just waiting on funds to finish it :-( . Basicly I need the exaust and decent tires and seat covers and a headliner and a few trim peices then maybe more bedliner spray on the bottom side of the truck . then air bags on the rear . Then i need to replace my rear seal as its starting to seap my dad was being helpfull and installed the seal with out reading it close and litely oiled the seal so it seaps oil .

How ever the swap is a very easy to do only very minor mods are needed to be done to the frame and cab with harly any effort on the mods .

yes im running the full pledge 205 t-case from a 93 dodge .

I can send you pics if you send me a exact e-mail .

Id post pics but i cant figure out how to do so with my kodak digital easy share camera

You bet! I'd love to see the photos. My email is -- email address removed --.

And if I can post photos here, anyone can! Just save them to a file on your computer in "My Pictures". Your camera software probably already does that.

When posting, use the "Go Advanced" option instead of "quick reply" and scroll down to the "Manage Attachments" box in the "Additional Options" box below and click on it.

That will open a small window on your screen. At the top will be three boxes and the word "browse" next to them. Click on the first "browse".

That will open your computer's "My Pictures". Go to the file where the photo you want is stored and just click (maybe double-click) the photo you want.

It will automatically attach to the first box in the new window. (and your post). You can do that two more times for two more photos.

Click the "Upload" box next to the "browse" boxes when you're done fetching photos. Then just finish your text of your post and click "submit reply" or "preview post" like normal.

(I'm doing it as I'm typing this so I don't tell you wrong... Can't believe I don't have any truck pics on this computer... So this is my son at age 11 having some fun and is one of my favorites... )

I'm sure there are better ways or different ways, but this method works for me.
