Thanks to the folks here my truck is vibe free. Service dept. sent both shafts out to be balanced. That took care of some of it. About 50%. I told them about the deal with loosening the engine mount bolts and the trans. mount bolts. They were a bit skeptical but did the procedure. They aren't skeptical anymore! The truck is nice and smooth.

There's a thread about it somewhere... . but someone discovered that if you loosen the bolts... . start the engine and I think put it in gear for short period and then back to neutral, tighten everything up it aligns things much better and can reduce the vibe.

What we did was loosen the "through bolts" on the engine mounts, loosen the transmissiom mount bolts. Then slowly drive the truck about 100 feet each way, shut it down in neutral so nothing is in bind. Then tighten everything back to spec's.

I'd guess it allows everything to sorta center itself. Whatever it does it seems to have worked on my truck.
