I had the same problem, tires look good no odd wear. I purchased Centramatic balancers for all 4 and got some improvement but not factory new smooth.
after a few weeks I stopped at a tire dealership that installs a lot of big tires and lift kits for local dealers. They road force checked and then balanced all 4 and suggested removing the Centramatics. I did as suggested and I now have a very smooth ride at over 100 mph
Are you still on the Nexens? I am at 24,000 miles on my 15 3500 drw and am starting to get a bit of a vibration. I am sure it is the tires as the tread has shifted and the tires look footballed. Some of the cracks are showing steel belts also. I have seen pictures from other members showing tread delimitation most obvious with the tire removed from the wheel. It looks like bubbles in the rubber. In my opinion do not spend much money chasing an issue that will likely be solved with quality tires. If you have different tires have their balance checked. Good luck.
There are numerous posts about a vibration when driving over 60mph. Some report a road force balance fixes the problem. No real definitive solution has been found yet...I personally believe it has something to do with the extremely soft transmission and transfer cases mounts....I mean really soft.
Ok. Had a looky today. Well it's a one piece aluminum driveshaft. It's not the cause of the problem. The only thing I found that was a little weird was how soft the transmission/transfer case mounts are. I mean really soft. They allow the whole drivetrain to move easily and a lot. Perhaps if that huge chunk of drivetrain gets moving, it causes a perceived vibration? I don't know. I've never felt softer mounts though...in my opinion....too soft.
Also, there is currently another thread on this very topic right now with some good information. Maybe the moderator could merge them? There is also a big thread on the Cumminsforum about this topic. This is a growing issue that needs to be resolved.
