When I am accelerating above 70mph I feel a type of grinding vibration  in the accelerator pedal. As soon as I go under 70mph it goes away. Anyone have any ideas??? Truck runs fine. Thanks in advance for any thoughts...

Patrick.

Tire seperation, thrown wheel weights, tail shaft bushing, carrier bearing, u-joint, slip yoke is worn in the transmission tail housing, pinion bearing, cracked fan blade... ... lots of things come to mind..... does it get a little shimmy around 35, too?

Go pedal vibes...

No wheel shake, just the feeling at the pedal. Parts buddy at the Cummins shop said maybe it's the throttle linkage. Wow, the lists of ideas is long and scary. How do I go about checking all those other components? BTW, I'll drive barefoot to eliminate the out of balance New Balance sneekers:-laf

Thanks everyone, Patrick.

check your trans mount is not broken or shifted to one side. It could also be the overdrive section of the trans is getting ready to go. Loose planetaries will do just what you described. A loose idler gear in the transfer case will do the same.

I second the trans mount. Stupid things are a total pain when they ley the housing touch the cross memeber. ALL manner of weird noises and vibrations.

Trans mount...

I looked above the frame crossmember and below where the trans mounts. It do not look very big:-laf. I check the Dodge/Chrysler shop manuel and I really could not see it well . Anyone know the part number, and or page number for procedures and the best way to change it ?
