I may have two separate issues here. Had not towed my trailer in four months. Headed out on vacation with the trailer. Drove about 25 miles and stopped at a stop light. Started in first gear with zero throttle, added throttle and the started to for lack of a better word it bucked, through 1st and second gear. Very significant bucking.
At first I thought I was loosing the clutch but it didn't really feel like a clutch slipping. I drove a short distance until I could get off of the road and did a visual check.
I didn't find anything out of place. On the next start same thing but not as bad. I stopped at the dealer that was along the way and described the truck and the situation to the service guy. He thought it was a dirty EGR valve. Only problem with that is the truck doesn't have an EGR valve. Everything was normal at highway speeds and without the trailer. Two days later hooked up the trailer and headed down the road the bucking was gone but I noticed a vibration in 1st, 2nd, and a little bit in 3rd. It happened between 900 and about 1700 RRM's. Not a significant vibration but clearly noticeable. It has gotten less the more I drove but is still there.
The vibration may have been there forever but maybe I really started to notice it after the bucking event. Any ideas?
