Why did you choose auto?

I have the 2000 rpm drone and I've got a 4x4 long bed, qc, 4:10, 6 spd, and ps hose tsb has not been done. It's Flame red clearcoat if that has anything to do with it. :D

I can't check all of the options off on the poll because it'll only let you check one.

2000 Drone

New to the site but I too have the drone at 2000rpm. 1 month old 2003 cummins, 4x4, auto 48re, 4:10 short bed and quad cab. How do we get rid of it? I want to hear the engine and turbo not the exhaust if that is the problem. :{

Going in for repairs 12/29/03. Will have back 01/02/04.

Their is no 3. 96 gears, it is 3. 73 or 4. 10

Anyway I don't know if I have what all you reffer to or not. Their is vibrations that you can feel but it all increases with engine speed and is not worse at any cetrain speed. I just asume it is normal Cummins vibs.

How's this for a different response?? I own a 2002 2500 4X4 auto and a 2003 2500 4X4 6 spd HO. The 2003 has no noticeable vibration, but the 2002 has a pretty bad one at around 2,000 rpm. Go figure. :confused:

HOPE!

I hope you are right! I have never wanted a vehicle so much in my life to have something like this spoil it. I understand that there will be more engine noise and that lovely TURBO sound but not an obnoxious drone.

I meant that as a oxymoron. Thats what they said but I bet it was cured with the NEW DESIGNED exhaust manifold and turbo on the 04. 5bet never hear a word from their TOP men. :rolleyes:Call and complain. get them to open a file I did 5 months aho. I think others did also. Post what they tell YOU. 1800-992-1997. Have vin. number handy.

Well , hopefully "they" can fix it soon or maybe Mr. Magnuson and Moss can "help" me get an 04. 5 :eek:

Drone

I will give them a call believe me. I am still trying to pinpoint the exact problem though. The noise that I am hearing does not seem to occur or is not near as noticeable if I rev it to 2000rpm in neutral. Would this still be related to the exhaust or something else?

If your goal is to feel the vibe we are talking about, make sure you have your A/C on and the compressor is running. It makes the problem a lot worse.

I have it....

but I am getting used to it. My Dad and I were riding together tonight in my truck with the cruise on 70 and he said "yours has a drone that mine doesn't have". I sped up to 75 and showed him the problem goes away.

I guess it's not my imagination. I keep forgetting to check the PS hose for the TSB.

'03 Qc 4x4, dually, 3. 73 , 6 spd, TSB not done as of yet, yes I have the VIBRATION. No drone new exhaust took care of that!!
