Vibration with A/C on??

I bought a 03 2500 HO 6 speed about a month ago and it has a vibration at about 2000-2200 RPM's but only when the A/C is on. Has anyone else had this problem if so what's the fix?? Thanks for the help.

A/C, I still have the heat on!



I did try out the A/C just to see if it worked, and had no vibration or added noises over the regular fan noise,

Bad vibes

Mine does the same thing. You can feel it in both the steering wheel and the throttle pedal. I haven't looked into the cause yet. I can't remember if my 2nd gen 24v did the same thing or not. It probably did, but, the much louder engine covered the problem up. Just my 2 cents.

Mine doesnt make any noise or vibration at all. Also, I've never heard my radiator fan come on, even at idle. Is it supposed to turn on any time the a/c is on?

I also have increased vibration when the A/C compressor kicks on. Felt through wheel and pedal. If I pay attention, I can tell when the compressor turns on, and when it turns off.



I suspect this will decrease as the compressor "breaks in".

Cummins 5. 9s have a drone zone around 2100rpm. If it's straight piped, you'll hear it. If it's quiet, you'll feel it. All four of mine have done it. Mine had an out of round/balance drive shaft that was aggrevating the situation. After a shouting match with the service mgr, the shaft was swapped with another truck and now I have a normal vibration at 2100rpm. It's enough to feel a slight buzz in the steering wheel and peddle. But not a pulsating vibration like I had before. I run the a/c all the time down here in Florida so I can't say if mine is more or less with the a/c on or off. The fan comes on quite often.

What is drone?? I've heard people talk about this over on the PSD forum but never realized what it was. Mine is smooth as silk at any RPM until I turn on the A/C. Whenever the A/C is on it has not really a vibration more like a buzzing feel. Would that be the drone? Has anyone took it to the dealer and had them check it out??

i have the same thing a buzz around 2000-2001. 5 rpms. but when i turn the ac on it gets much worse. what up with this. this is mior though i love this truck. aslo after putting 315's on it i never drive for long periods over 2000rpms. 1900rpms is over 70 so this is one fix put on 315's

Mine does it at idle. When it kicks in and out it sounds like a 5 hp briggs starting under the hood. I can't seem to get the defrost to work either so it's about time the dealer gets it for a few days. Just in time for my first oil change!

They seem to be having a bit of a problem braking the defrost doors in the heater box. Mine had the exact opposite problem, air always came out the defrost and would never come out on the floor. The dealer replaced several parts including the broken door and it works great now.

It's some loose wires as far as I can tell. An angry fist to the top of the dash seems to remind it to work so I doubt it's the door.

Has anyone found a fix for this problem yet?? I'm gonna plan on taking my truck into the shop sometime this week for the free oil change and would like to get the buzz/vibration fixed also. How often are y'all changing your oil?? I thought I saw something in the owners manuel that said 15,000??? I figured about every 5000 or so?? Thanks for the help.
