You don't get more Vibration at all, more noise yes but not vibration. Are you looking at a comp box or have one and have a vib? If you are looking at getting one and are gun shy see if you can get a ride in a truck with a box or barrow one from a fellow TDR member to try first.

I feel a great deal more vibration pulling a long grade starting at 1800 rpm up thru 2200 rpm with the box. Not sure how much is normal.

What type of noise? The normal diesel sound only louder??? My gearstick is even vibrating so much you can here it when I am pulling a hill with the box on. Fuel pedal feels like a vibratory sander is in between it and my foot. A casette tape sticking out of the player vibrated up on down. Shut it off and the vibration quits. Anyone else having these symtoms running a box??? Only 36000 miles on truck.

Pure guess work but based on that thread maybe you are slipping your clutch. I have had my transmission modified so I may not see the problem

In my case

I have a lot more noise some from louder normal diesel noise, some extra noise from trans( maybe do to exceding torgue rating) of trans by alot and more grone in general from everthing else. These truck I am sure are built with a fudge factor in volved in way of ratings but it is easy to exced that also and get strange extra noise's. The only time I ever got a vib is when slipping stock clutch in high rpm and max hp and that was only a little vib/shutter.

vibs

i get the same vib when my edge pulse (set at 3) begins fueling . i really think it is from my stock clutch slipping i am hoping by end of year to have my south bend installed. but i really notice my vib when i am running empty and i romp on it. Oo. Oo.

yes, more vibes

I noticed more vibration between 1900 and 2200 when I went to

DD3's. When I add more fuel with the box(DDUFM), I get even more vibes at the same rpms. Vibes stop as rpms go up. I just figured it's the load on the engine from more fuel and as the engine speed catches up with the fueling it relaxes a bit. Of course it's more noticable with the TC locked up.

Does this make sense? It works for me.
