When excelerating from a stop I have a vibration between 5 and 10 MPH (rear end - trany - shaft) don't know. I have a 2007, 3500 duely long box with 5. 9. Talked to a member in Christmas Michigan who said something about a shaft problem, he was a mechanic and was talking over my head. There was something about aligning the shaft. I have had it to the dealership and they, of course, say there is nothing they can do and that there are two other trucks like mine in the area and they have the same problem and they can't figure it out. Help !#@$%!

Hello EMarsden, Welcome to TDR. This is Dean from D&K Tractors and Trailers, the guy you spoke to in Christmas. You posted in the wrong spot, not that it really matters somebody will find you. You should be under 5. 9 engine and transmission (2003-2007). The problem you're dealing with is called drive line shutter. It's in the alignment of the drive shaft the center support is where you'll make you're adjustments. On my truck I wound up having to move the center support to the right. I kept adjusting it up and down until I realized the center support wasn't centered in a straight line from the trans to the diff. The center support being out of alignment makes the drive shaft have to work in two directions instead of one. I don't know if I said that right, up and down good, side to side bad. Turn you're trans yoke up so it's vertical, take a piece of string from there all the way back to the rear diff, and you're looking for a straight line from front to rear. I'd believe you would have to move your center support to the right because the rear diff pinion is off set to the right, the engine is off set to the right, and the center support is centered in the truck. This cured 90% of my problem. Mine's worse when the truck is loaded. It's not unusual to have some in all trucks.

Print this off and show this to your mechanic. If nothing else it will just aggravate him listening to another mechanics opinion.

Next time list your truck's specs under your post, so guys will know how to help you.

Good luck, hope you trip worked out fine.

I had a similar problem with my Dually. The u-joints kept failing and it turned out the real culprit was an out of balance driveshaft.
