Great Site! I'm new at this so go easy on me, Have a 1998

24va 3500 Quad 4x4 lb 36,500 mi has had a vibration that is

felt in the steering column, peddles, and is noticeable throughout

the cab at idle and more so when in gear, truck is stock.

Has been to a number of dealers and was told they could not find

a problem, but if it got worse bring it back. Now it's my problem.

Does anyone know if there is a problem with the motor mounts

in these trucks, are there better one's I can buy,I'm pretty sure

that's what's doing it. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

some thaughts

I don't recall ever seeing anything about motor mounts being bad yet on the site but could be wrong I would think that you may have a miss like an injector out or possible a fuel pump problem or harmonic balancer coming apart (have seen that already on a 99) not mine, does it change in tune with the rpm sitting still or driving hope this helps for things to look for. Almost forgot welcome aboard there is a lot to learn here.

Thanks for comments csevers, it does change when RPM

are up,at highway speeds not to noticeable. In park if you

bring up the rpm and hold it tach will pulse very slight, you can

also feel what I would call a slight roll to the engine. This truck

was purchased new by me it has always had a low level vibration,

trans dipstick used to back out until the dealer changed it! . I never felt the vibration inside the cab except for the last 10 or 12K. I am told some engine vibration is normal ( whats normal?)

I have nothing to compare this too just Fords. Power seem's OK

I average about 16per gal, been using Power Service since

new. Has auto/3. 55's tow a 36 ft fifth kinda sluggish getting

started . THANKS for the welcome.
