I had a slight vibration when coming home from CT see food challenge (Death wobble on the way there vibration on the way back :{ ) I thought the vibration was from the DW, after trying to figure out what the problem was looking all over the underside of the truck and knowing it was a U joint problem. I could not move any of the shafts enough for a pin point problem. I was sure it was in the front because of the death wobble.

I took it to the dealer about a month ago and they could not feel it but they wanted to do ball joints and a new clutch for 2 grand :eek: . Long story short I took it to the dealer yesterday and they were able to feel the problem and they first thought it was a rotor but I told them it felt more like it was elliptical than a pulse. It turns out that it was a bad rear u joint (pinion). That thing was in real bad shape rusted and really worn down. the truck drives so much better. Oo.

What were you home for exactly? Is this the new eating sport?

How could your rear u-joint cause a front end DW? I'm glad you got it fixed, but I can't imagine how something in the rear drivetrain could make your front end oscillate?

I have 61,000 miles on the truck.

The DW and vibration happened the same weekend, not related but just my dumb luck :{
