Competition Holy I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER Batman

Competition Mechanicstown, OH Truck Pull

Well I got ahold of the guy would recorded 1 pass.

It was a slow 13. 8 run. With the new turbo I am having to relearn my launch vs my other turbos. This one takes a lil bit to spool... . but once it does. . it hits hard. With the new turbo my 3-4 upshift being late seems to be much much more noticable (around 3550rpm) and I think its hurting my top end dramatically.

Unfortunately I have no other pics or videos... ..... of the day. I did break 100 mph on the first run tho.

I'm planning on running again on March 17th with bigger injectors. Rumor has it a pesky 12v wants to play with me as well... ... . we'll see if I can talk him into launching in 4wd.

Its linked to a file. Hang on let me rename it and add the extension.

Try it now... .

If it doesn't work by clicking it... it should work if you "right click" and "save target as" then view it. It works for me... its a . mpg file.

Kat,

What was your R/T on that run? At what point do you let off the brakes?

Thanks, I'm trying to build a strategy. I still haven't made it out to a dragstrip yet, and I don't want my first attempt to be too humiliating.

Works!!

Kat, It didnt work earlier for me... . but just tried it again after you changed the name and it works for me. I cant "save target as" but it does let me see itOo.

First off don't worry bout reaction time. I'm having to relearn how I launch due to the properties of my turbo. It takes a bit longer to spool... so gonna try launching a lil higher on the boost. I just build some boost (8 to 10 psi) and then on the 2nd yellow I floor it and let off the brakes. My reaction times range from . 7 to 1. 5. Sometimes I don't get staged before the other racer and get caught off gaurd by the lights.

Strategy..... just go practice... . the only way you will learn.

13s at over 100 in a 6800# 4x4!

Man that is pretty cool! I used to have

a '93 Camaro Z28 LT1 6 speed; I did

consistent 14. 01s at 99. 9 MPH. Never

broke into the 13s or over 100. It was

totally stock. This was the first year for

the current generation Camaro, at 275

HP. (Info for the sake of comparison).

My Ram will never be that quick (not an

automatic). Sure is cool to see you and

the others run those high 13s in such a

big truck! My friends cannot get over the

fact a diesel 6 banger will run that good!

:D

If your having trouble with Kats video, right click on the link and select save/as then put it somewhere like I have a turbo diesel folder in my C: drive then load it there and play it when it's finished... ..... Worked great for me Kat, how is it that you truck makes so much power yet cleans out smoke at 60 ft..... is it a 24V thing.

My truck don't smoke "that much". I guess I need more fuel... . ;) Even before I got the B1 people made comments... it smokes on no boost... . but then its gone. Ford guys would ask me about it at Dyno meets... . I attribute it to the DDIII injectors..... and their design. SInce I am going to try nitrous... thats my reason for going to BD IV's... . need a lil more fuel... ...

I hope to dyno on Saturday with the truck as is. Then swap injectors and try to dyno again.

Kat, how much different do you feel the B1 is over the HX40 you had on it? You said it takes longer to spool. Weren't you launching at higher boost numbers with the HX40?

Nitrous, now your talking, or laughing.

I don't think it takes longer to spool up than the 40, but maybe that's just me---it kicks a lot harder than the 40 also---chris

Chris, any numbers to confirm that? At what point does it hit harder? Is this in drag racing or sled pulling? The effect will be different. I'm thinking what Kat is saying is that staging is taking a bit longer to get the boost up to a point, that he's still working out his timing.

Man, your sig is so long!

Fred--sig is way to long I know--but I figure if someone questions my stupidity about something they can at least see that I've been there, done that---

hits harder---well I'd say at about 10 psi, maybe a little before but not much, she kicks and the boost just rockets--I still don't think it takes longer than a 40 to get the boost up --of course this is not sled pulling just my test on the street---got to remember Kat has new injectors too and that may play into it a little---all the changes affect some things--I'm still running DDIII's and will soon slap in the BD5's at the Dyno so I'll see if the turbo acts any different with the 5's..... chris
