I finished installing our video entertainment and navigation system in my truck yesterday, so I thought I'd share some pics and a few details. The system consists of a Pioneer 6400CD head unit and a Pioneer AVIC-9DVD navigation system. Plus there are 2 Clarion 6. 5" headrest video monitors. The head unit has a flip-out screen, so the driver can see the map.
We use a portable DVD player (also with screen) to play movies over the system. The video is output from the portable, to the head unit, and then out to the rear screens. The sound plays over the truck's stock speakers. This lets everyone hear the movie, and everyone but the driver watch the movie.
