VIN reading - need help fast!

Can someone tell me what part of the VIN tells me the manufacture date on a 3G truck. I'm looking at a 1500 and a 2500, not sure if there would be any difference in the VIN. Thanks for the quick replies!

There is s sticker on the lower part of the drivers door, in the jamb, that gives month and year of manufacture. Not sure the VIN gets any more specific.

The only problem is, that doesn't provide much more info, and less in the case of date of manufacture, than the sticker on the door.
