How can I decode the VIN on a 2005 Ram 2500?

Decoding vin will only get you a lil info,mfg country, engine,body style etc. You want options etc you must get info through Chrysler (dealer etc)

Bob4x4 is right. You can ask for a build sheet from Dodge/Chrysler on their web site also. You just need to be the owner of the vehicle and that they can verify that.

My '03 has a data plate riveted on the passenger side radiator support. I pulled those codes and I requested a sheet from my dealer. All I gave them was the last 7 or 8 from the VIN and they gave me the sheet that lists all the stuff on my truck. I keep it in the glove box. Kind of a cool read.
