Does anyone know anything about the Viper II Radar detector/scrambler? What about others? It seems that my Big Red dually is a police magnet.

Does the Valentine also provide active jamming?

All the objective tests I've seen indicate that active jamming really doesn't work that well. To get effective active jamming on radar, the signal strength has to be high enough to make the jammer a very illegal transmitter. Laser jamming is even more difficult since the laser beam is pinpoint in nature. The Valentine depends on market-leading detection range and source discrimination technology. I'd suggest checking mags such as Car and Driver and see what the professional "road-burners" there use - the Valentine One is their detector of choice.

Thanks Rusty, that is why I was asking. I was looking for the most fool proof device I could find, and the maximum advantage I could get.

When I go into work before 6:00 on Sunday mornings and the roads are deserted I tend to let the CTD loose. All these small town Barney Fifes who have been bored out of their gourds all night just have to hassle me, because they can. The only tickets they have given me were non- moving violations,_but I've had to make court appearences. What a PITA and it's getting old.
