Virginia window tint

I have read the tint laws for Virginia, yet I see many, many vehicles with windows darker than 50% front and 35% aft of driver. As we Virginians know, we have to have our vehicles inspected each year. How are these vehicles passing? A little hush money perhaps?

My truck has 5% on all glass including a sun shade strip along with straight exhaust. I will be needing to register it in Virginia since the student provision will run out in December, and I abhor the fact that the Communistwealth can tell me how dark I can go or that the truck needs a muffler. All of my trucks have had 5% tint for over 8 years and not once have I had a problem with it either here in VA or in TN. Guess I could strip then clean, get it inspected, then redo the tint...



So, are there any lenient (God forbid) inspection stations in the Loudon/Fairfax County areas?

i have 35% sides and 20% front strip and 20% over factory rear, all legal. And they havent found my cut-out yet either. but what most do down here is find a shop that will let it slide ,and there are some out there or roll the windows down and ease the truck in the shop and hope they dont look underneath. those inspections really make moving back over to the TN side seem like a great idea. good luck and go hokies!

I pray that no one in NE Tenn sees these words. Wouldn't that be Vol Treason? Our daughter worked down in Kingsport for a while and part of the employment agreement was that she swear allegiance to the Vols and forsake all other teams. :-laf :-laf
