Sonora and Tioga passes are open

I was alerted by another member that I may have a virus on my computer. I sent him an e-mail (no attachments, just script), which was blocked by his server. I tracked down the virus by it's name, VBS. KAKWorm, and also found a link to remove same and a patch to dis allow any future intrusions by this virus. I have virus scan software (Mcaffe) but mine did not pick this one up. If I sent you an e-mail recently, within the last week, I urge you to check this link below and see if you are protected. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

I just got it last night. Deleted it because I had no idea who it was from it was all blank. My Norton didn't catch it but I did before my wife opened it.

Glad you caught it, I have no idea how I got mine, but glad it's now removed. I'd love to catch one of these a$$holes that create this garbage and give 'em some remember.

Kakworm has been around for a while. I spent a lot of evenings getting rid of it this winter.

Please, if you have virus checkers, make sure that you regularly visit the manufacturer's site for fresh definitions. If you don't you will have a very false sense of security. My Norton automatically searches the web for an update every time I reboot. I get usually one a week and sometimes three a week.

The people that write new viruses are turning them out like hot cakes. Only progran the I ever saw that is self installing, self maintaining, needs no documentation or tech support. It also usually operarates as designed.
