If you drove a car that kept breaking down, wouldn't you get a different car? Or at least fix the one you have, so that it stopped stranding you all the time?

The majority of these virii attack via Microsoft's Outlook or Outlook Express security holes -- either keep up to date with patches, or use a different (less vulnerable) email client. Granted, it's awfully easy to use the freebie that came with Windoze, but there's an inherent risk. Try Pegasus (free) or Eudora Pro ($40) for an alternative email client.

If your computer doesn't have virus protection, you're also leaving yourself wide open for trouble. Like leaving the front door unlocked everytime you go to work -- you might never get robbed, but the odds are against you in the long run. Get Norton or MacAfee, and update the virus signatures every day when you start your computer.

I had to grin at the Mac response and would agree. I use the iMac quite often for mail myself. Since Microsoft is constantly under attack, I have stayed with using Netscape as the mail client. I've used Netscape since it was the featured browser with AOL YEARS ago and stuck with it when I went with an independent ISP. I have since switched to IE for browsing the Net, but keep Netscape for mail and have had no problems to date. Fingers crossed and I probably just cursed myself...

No worries... ... guess it was my lack of sleep caused me to panic. I have ran Macfee 5 times in two days and not a trace of it. I do have about 15 copies of it tho that were sent to me.
