So how do they service this Powerstroke if it has a major issue??? Can't lift cab off.

Drop drivetrain out the bottom. Go ahead and say skip the extended warranty … I dare you! :p

Maybe with frame attached… in other words RV body comes off to get cab off.

Bet it takes longer than the pickups 30-45 minutes to remove or reinstall the cab.

Probably, but I doubt it’s difficult as the units are really self contained above the frame.

Hard part would be finding a service shop with the capability.

Is that even possible with welded crossmembers? I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be possible on our trucks.

Good point....I have no idea how their frames are setup.

I can't help but think they must have made a way to accommodate this if they were sold as an RV chassis, whether it's removable crossmembers or through the front.

My son says they come out the front, they do a ton of Fords. He said it is bad, but not to the point you want to shoot yourself:D You, for sure, need a special Ford lifting tool to do it. He said they do ambulances out the front because the units electronics are hard wired in place, no couplers. Top end/cam repair on this 6.7 Ford ambulance. I would run away screaming:eek:

This is a '12 with 300k miles on it. The company has 8 new models on the way and just wanted to patch this one. Turned out they misdiagnosed what was wrong. They thought the rocker/pushrod was messed up, so they preordered all the parts to fix it and then found the lifter and cam trashed, so now they had to go deeper. If they had known, a short block would have went in. It uses two pushrods per lifter to work two valves, not crossheads. After the stick went in the bicycle spoke and they fell down, it was too late. He is going to send me a picture of the goofy lifter.
