I have an '03 Ram CTD ISB-305 that takes about 2-3 minutes for its voltage to come to 14+ on the dash. It hangs below that and I hear a relay clicking during that period, and I wonder if it's cycling the heater grid or something.

Anyway, on my '06 Ram the voltage comes up faster, perhaps 20 seconds.

Truck starts fine, batteries are a year old. Don't know if it's an alternator on the way out. Truck starts and runs fine, just curious if that is normal behavior?

TIA

There was a thread on this very thing a few days ago, from what I read it sounds like normal behavior... for an '03.

My '03 cycles the grid heaters for a minute or two as well, I can't say why the '06 only cycles for 20 seconds.

Does this happen on the same day, same temps etc?
