I posted a little while ago about a problem with my alternator regulator. Here is the fix that was done:
The two wire plug on the alternator was modified. On my truck the wires were colored blue and green.
The alternator shop used an older Chrysler regulator* to replace the computer controlled one.
The two wire connector was unplugged and the green wire was cut about 2. 5" back from the plug (in case I ever wanted to go back to the original configuration. ) The blue wire had some insulation stripped to tap in for the signal.
The "center" pin on the regulator was connected to the plug side of the green wire cut in the previous step.
The "side" pin on the regulator was spliced in to the blue wire.
The regulator was mounted on the passenger side fender well between the batter and the air filter.

I'll take a look at my service manual tomorrow to find out what signals were on those two wires in case the colors have changed. My truck is a 2000 with the 136Amp alternator.
* I'm not sure about the part number on the regulator, but I coppied this off it:
Transpo
