Just replaced the first injection pump on my 98. 5 24 valve. Pretty straight forward. I made one mistake by taking out the vacuum pump/steering pump but didn't have to. It appeared that the bracket holding the pump was one piece. Turned out it was a 2 piece type and I could have skipped removing the 2 pumps by leaving one part on the block. Also, be careful of the hose clamps on the fuel pressure and return lines. They are quite sharp, I lost so much blood from my forearms when a friend looked into the engine bay, he asked if I hit a deer.
