I just changed out a vp44 on a 02 and also

Installed new fass ddrp lift pump bled system cranked and ran excellent let it idle 10-15 mins. Drove it 8 miles ran good. Shut it off tried to start again and will not run. Fuel press is 22-25psi good flow to pump good power supply to pump and sensors. I have tried bleeding the injectors every possible way you can imagine and I am not getting the amount of fuel

I should. I can crack the no 1 or no 2 inj line and it will hit a couple of times then it will just spin over. Any ideas?

I have tried that and today I Hot wired vp44 to bypass ECM and still would not crank I also pulled new bypass for return out and checked it is good and clean and still have good flow with no air cracked no 1 inj loose with 22-25 Pds fuel press but still not getting much to injectors. I am beginning to think this rebuilt vp 44 is no
Good but I am not getting any codes I guess it could be a mechanical failure In the pump
Has anybody had trouble with rebuilt pumps from thoroughbred diesel?
U

vp-44 no start

The bypass is set at 14 psi according to my manual. I remember reading on this site that high pressure from the lift pump can rupsur the diaphragm in the vp-44. think it on Bluechip Diesel site. Just a thought. Good luck. :)

Try disconnecting the fuel line to the VP inlet. Then crank the FASS (hot wire it if you need) and see what kind of flow you have.

Really sounds like you're not getting fuel to the VP. Don't believe the gauge. I've been fooled by a faulty gauge more than once.

Tried that already. Very good flow, I regulated pressure to 15-16 psi and it started. Fass is sending me a different ball&seat and spring to go
In lift pump

Just to let everybody know fourbarR told me about blue chip diesel. They have some great info on vp44 problem my problem was caused by the chip that was on the truck holding the fuel solenoid to long and damaged the plate I'n front of the new pump. Power adders are ok just don't go and drive it hard within the first 20-30 minutes or do like i am going to do from now on whenever I install vp44 pumps. I will disconnect any tuner and return to stock setting and do the initial startup and test drive at stock settings and then later hookup tuners etc after break in. Oh and i did monitor fuel press and trouble codes throughout this whole ordeal.
