Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) VP-44 red line moved to 4500

Who can help me do this?

It is for a friend who has a sled pulling truck.

What signal does the pump see to tell it to start cutting back and what kind of signal is it? Is it a dc voltage that ramps up or is it a squarewave, or what?

What year is your friends truck. If it's electronic then just put a comp drag box on it and forget about it.

All the VP-44's are electronic.

He is already running it to 3500 and would like 4500.

Is it possible?

Anything is possible (read $$$)... ... But as far as I know all of the boxes limit fuel above redline. Besides the valves will strike the pistons much above 3600 rpm. In order to run higher than 3600 without problems the valvetrain must be upgraded.

Don't these engines start coming apart at 4200rpm? I thought I had read that on here somewhere.

Hmmmm maybe that is why my truck started falling off the end of last year. It saw 3800rpms too many times . It will get some top end work this spring though.
