What is the general consensus on replacing an out of warranty injector pump?

Aftermarket? Dodge OEM?

I am looking at a 2002 1-ton dually and wondering what the worse case would be to replace one. It's a 6-speed HO and runs and drives well with 97k on the clock, at least by this rookie's estimation. I have been subscribed to this list for a couple of months now and have followed many of the threads and learning as much as I can. We're considering a 5th wheel or maybe a tag-along, just haven't decided which way. I kinda like the idea of having a bed available when I'm towing, so that is the reason I haven't decided which way to go. Either way it will be a toyhauler to carry motorcycles.

Thanks in advance for any input offered on the VP-44. :)

From my understanding, All the VP-44s are all Bosch remanufactures. If I am wrong, someone will correct me. Anyway my point is, buy from a credible company. Cummins stuff.com has very reasonable prices and have heard they have good customer service. I know there are many places that are good to deal with. I lucked out and my pump was under warranty when it went south.
