Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) vp44 break in?

Quick question. After a new injection pump install, is there a break in period or am i good to go? If there is one how long till i can tow?

Geeez! I hope not, I just replaced mine with one from Blue Chip Diesel and put it to use right away... ... ... but I'm still adding a little 2-cycle oil to the fuel at fill up juuuuuust because.

They say break engines in the way you're going to use them, why not apply the same philosophy to a VP44 :-laf

A Bud of mine swaped his out at IRP 2 years back, for a II HRVP. II recommended a 1,000 mile break-in, before tapping the wire. Then in '07 he used that HRVP to take Quick Diesel @IRP. Moose
