Howdy,

I just installed a HotRod version VP44, the install went perfect and easy,

the problem is my idle speed is 950 RPM, is this normal or can I adjust the idle speed. The other problem is the engine seems to have a miss, it kinda sounds like a gas engine with a race cam. It lopes then stumbles about every 5 seconds or so, then lopes again, my engine is also much louder than before the new pump is this normal.

This thing has awsome power more than I had on level 3 with the Edge Comp connected, I did not connect the pump wire yet as I wanted to check out the driveabilty with out it first.

My fuel presures are a constant 15 psi.

Want more info

Anyone no anything about these pumps. Who modified them? What did they do to them? Has reliability or longevity been compromised or possibly even improved? I want details and a new turbo to keep up with this thing Oo.
 
update

Checked my RPM's this morning. 825 in drive and 910 in neutral. Don't remember what stock was. Stumble seems to dissapear when warm, but do notice slight movement in the tach. Definetly smoother at operating temps than when cold. Power is sweet and always have smoke smell in the air at idle even with my stock injectors. :cool: Damn this thing even makes the truck smell cool :cool: Best part is wifey does not realize what is going on ;) Boy is she gonna be :eek: when the transmission needs replacin. The injectors and Turbo will probably take a dump soon after :-laf Ahh what do I care, I make the $$$ anyway. Actually she doesn't give me much :-{} she just thinks my truck is a POS for always needin big $$$$. Gotta say that I was borderline OK before this Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde VP went in. Now I am feelin a strong pull to the darkside. Power is addictive even a litlle sniff of it :D

Mine runs smoother cold, after reaching operating temps is when I can really notice the lope & miss or stumble. My RPM;s are about the same as yours 925 idle N, & 850 in D.

My EGT's are now 700 Degrees, about 75 degrees cooler at 70 MPH 2000 RPM W/ 3. 55 gears.

your right about SMOKE, this one puffs a small amount of black smoke on start up untill its warmed up, and look out if you put your foot into it so hold on, first your set deep into the seat and take off like a rocket black smoke and raw power.

Yea my wife just asked me why my 99 requires so muck attention and repair parts and her 04 never gives us any trouble, would'nt it be cheaper for us to trade it and get me a newer truck. Poor girl just dosent understand, so I said maybe in a year or two baby, as I plan for my next peformance toy.
