I have a 02 Dodge 3500 6-speed

My problem is no power or boost when it is first started, when it is warm the boost kicks in and it runs OK. I have a banks kit installed on it and of course the dealer has told me to take a flying leap. The pump has been replaced under warranty once with a re-man unit from Chrysler. They say it is again the pump. lift pump has been replaced along with the fuel filter, Dealer said pump PSI is good, but pump is bad. This sucks big time, why does it run after it warms up? could the re-man pump have been installed wrong? I saw a post about the key way!

seems like Chrysler just wants to have a excuse for not wanting to fix the problem. They say it is the Banks kit, as they say highly modified!

Any help

Thanks Lee

As you know the 0216 code is described as "injection pump timing failure". My drivability symptoms were varied and mostly random, as they seem to be for other's who have posted. I just wonder if it just varies from truck to truck?

The dealers "excuse" is surely your Banks kit. Looks like you're a newer member... . welcome... . but the TDR saying is "you're your own warranty station" if you bomb your truck. If you had the Banks stuff on when you got the reman, consider yourself lucky. ,

I am sorry to hear about your troubles with the fuel pump. Just curious, but how long have you had the reman pump on the truck?

Unfortunately, when the p0216 code appears, the only fix is a new pump. Just do not get upset when you see how much it costs

I know there is a person around the Texas area who can get pumps for a good price, but I can not remember his name. Do a search for inexpensive VP-44 and you should find him.

Good Luck

Once that wire is tapped no one will warranty it. Too bad Banks won't tell you that when you lay down your money. :(
