I had some warranty work done to my 2001 HO 6 speed to attempt to correct a hot and cold hard starting problem. The dealer under warranty replaced the VP44 pump and the lift pump. The invoice has the following part numbers:
VP44--R5019657-AC
Lift Pump 5080885AA
I got a mirror and verified this number on the VP44 plate. The question is what did I get? The part numbers I know about for an HO VP44 end in a "-28"
Does anyone know the conversion from the number I have to identify this pump as an HO pump? Is it a reman? Is the lift pump the latest? I was expecting the PN to end in 105 or 106.
In any event, the truck still has a hot start problem after sitting. We know for sure that the fuel drains from the VP44, and the dealer thought that replacing all these parts would fix the problem. Nope.
Does anyone know of a good after market check valve that might be put in the supply line to the VP44 that would stop the draining?
Any help would be appreciated.
