Hi Graphic man,

Just a little something to think about.

I can get you a rebuilt VP44 for $950us too but if your shopping for a rebuilt make sure it has the latest Bosch update - Cummins revision topic # 04T5-8

"This pump is more durable than previous pumps due to changes in the timing piston and sleeve". The timing piston and sleeve are internal to the pump.

"The new pump design replaces the brass timing bushing with a steel timing bushing"

We have the "new" updated pumps, not a rebuilt on sale this month for $1250us at http://www.piersdiesel.com/Specials.htm

nascar mark , how can you tell by looking at a pump if it has the latest bosch update , I having one installed under warranty at the dealership I work for , and i would like to know that it is updated , It is a rebuilt mopar pump. Thanks , vette75406

any 0470506027 built after 08/01/04 should have the updated piston and housing assembly as long as who ever is building it used up their redundent inventory of brass bushed housings.

p. s. new advance bore is not stainless but a hell of alot better than the brass bushed hsg.

thanks greg

The reman pump we are installing on my truck has a bosch number 0470506005, it was rebuilt on 08/27/04 , It has a dodge part number of r5013925aa , which dodge says only fits 98-2000 , they also say this number must be used for those years only or warranty chargeback will happen , Dodge says to use r5019658aa for 2001-2002 only and these pumps are on Star Parts review , im sure they interchange but what is there reason for the specific application of fitment?

That VP44 is a new updated pump as the 9th digit, reading right to left is a (4) which means new updated.

If Your Pump Has A Metal Name Tag Affixed To The Housing With The Bosch Part # On It Than It Could Be An Updated Housing, Or If The Pump Was Remaned By Bobby Bosch With A Date Code Of 4** However If Its A Factory Stamped Pump And Does Not Say Reman Cz At Bottom Of Data On Houisng Than It The Old Style Housing, However Its Still Pre Brass Bushed And Should Still Be Fine

P. S. NASCAR I HOPE YOU MEAN THE NUMBER ABOVE THE PUMP MODEL #

TYPICAL PUMP HOUSING STAMPING.

4** ****** DATE CODE AND SERIAL #

0470506005 PUMP MODEL #

011 LOGO BOSCH WHERE MANUFACTURED

394 4983 CUMMINS PART #
