I boogered up one of the tamper star bit screws for my pump cover. I have called everyone I can think of to track one of these down to no resolve. Diesel Dyanamics sent me an older style with just the star minus the tamper post but this will not pass the dealer visual. Somebody, anybody HELP!!

nope. I just put on a blue chip pump cover and the tool Pier's sent me was 5 star instead of 6. I didn't even notice and by the time I put some pressure on it to back it out, it was boogered.

i got a recon pump, you can pick it up if you get down here sometime,

we are gonna do some surgery on the old one, heh

I didn't kill my pump yet. Just need one pump cover screw with the tamper post.

Beleive me though, if I ever do kill the pump, we'll do surgery for sure.

I sorry, I don't have an extra. Funny thing is tho, for your year of truck, the 5 sided bit (Torx Tamperproof PLUS) is the correct bit. Those screws were used on 01-02 and probably anyone who has had a VP44 replaced.

Actually I said it backwards. The tool I got from Pier's was 6 sided. They later sent me the corrent 5 sided.
