I think my VP just bit the dust, no warnings or codes!!!#@$%! started to lose a little power then just bit it. I obviously need a new one, how do I know if mine is an acceptable core? Core prices range from 400 to 750:eek: so I'd like to know if I'll get porked twice on this and how hard! You'ld think the most expensive pump would also be the most reliable, NOT! fuel seems to flow right through this one. I'm of course assuming the rebuild is worth the moola ,not just a seal change like calipers. Anyone got the scoop??

from what i've been able to surmize by reading, the pintle valve is stuck open so fuel is going right through. Hey it went 180,000+ tapped nearly the whole time!! for a 98. 5 is that a record?

Pretty darn close to a record. I usually spot my customers 30 days on the core. I've never had to charge anybody so it's a pretty good system. Works great for both parties.

Midwest Fuel Injection also has a good core policy. Return the old one within 30 days and no charge.

Certified rebuilders use the lastest PCS and any other parts required to make better than new in my brass bore case. SNOKING

Not to hijack, but if you guys could throw some ball park prices on getting one of these items. Is a guy looking at $900 or $1900(+ core). Not looking for a deal, but I would like to know where a good pump is located for what price. Thanks!!

Dave

I'm finding 11-1200 +core average "deal" for stock and of course more for "HotRod" types. Read the warranties and research the rebuilder if possible there seem to be quite a lot of variance ,especially if you want to "tap it"!
