Codes indicate bad VP44. Truck still under Cummins 5y/100k warranty. Have Edge EZ, and the wastegate has been closed for so long it stays shut even with no turn-buckle. Will likely remove EZ when bring it to dealer- can they tell and will it be an issue? Should I also give the wastegate a tap (any suggestions) to let it work again so no overboost code when EZ not connected. Experience with VP44 replacement under warranty if not completely stock? Live in RI if anyone knows a good place.

Thanks.

Tom

Remove the EZ. You could drive it easy without setting an overboost code, but if the tech takes it for a test drive you may show one. An overboost code is one of the telltale signs DC informs the dealers to look for.

I'm going through the same scenario and just changed my boost elbow back to stock (HX35) after unhooking the EZ.

I'd recommend you get the wastegate to work. Can't help you out on a BOMB friendly dealer in RI.

I agree. Definitely take the EZ off. As for the wastegate, I wouldn't worry about it unless you want it to work. Since the EZ is not there and it is not traceable they can't blame you for it. And the wastegate has absolutely nothing to do with the inner workings of the injection pump. Hence they can't void your warranty.

Print the federal warranty laws out if they give you problems, its what I did when my dealership tried to void my warranty over the same thing. Needless to say, I got a new VP and didn't have to hear any more whining.
