Does anyone know if the fuel pump control module can be replaced or does the pump have to go to a fuel pump shop?

Or do you just bite the bullet and replace it with a recon pump? :{

I dont think the laymen has access to buy the internals i've heard the electronics are about a $600 item. usdieselparts.com or cumminsstuff.com are the two cheapest places to buy reman's from. run ya between $800-1000 for one with a 1 yr warranty.
