I heard a while ago that Chrysler and VW had a deal to make VW vans on a Chrysler assembly line. Did not hear any particulars at the time for design,powertrain etc.

I drove one at my friend's dealership. Euro tuned suspension. Extremely quiet van. Not enough legroom for the big dog here though.

Interesting that the price is less cuz the euro replacement parts are always so high, maybe thats where they make it back.

Chrysler traded the insider info and building of the VW van for small TDI engine info. IIRC, the VW TDI engines will be in Chrysler/Dodge cars (not the larger ones, just the mid and compact models) in 2010.



I hope the GM merger (or should I say cash grab) falls through, so that Chrysler makes it to 2010. They have some wild stuff planned for then, Diesels in 1/2 tons, a diesel in almost every model vehicle they offer, the new EV line (full electric cars) hit in 2010, as well as a hybrid 1500, durango, cherokee and LX platform. I believe a face lift for the LX platform is also slated for 2010 as well. Personally, I think they have alot of life in them, and I want them to at least give it a shot on thier own for the next few years.
