Portland area DEQ inspection

well, this looks like another "cool toy" for me. Any idea of how much performance is available from this little bugger?

is it possible to run with a V6 Accord?

one more thing. Does it have a Bosch VP-30 injector pump?

if so, then the VanAaken CPC would work with it

and who knows... . what if I used a box like the Edge Comp on the little VP-30?

really????

hmmmmmmm... ... a tdi vw beat a bullitt mustang. wow. great.

hehe, I am skeptical here also

if one of these TDI engines were BOMBed to the point HVAC's engine is..... you would be looking at aout 195 HP

that would be fun:p but a Mustang beater..... NOPE

I think a tricked out TDI Jetta would be cool!

Actually, I think that's about what he claims he's getting (195 hp). I haven't seen this NB TDI, so I have no first-hand knowledge. I'm just the messenger here guys. :(

This site is in Gernman, but this 16-valve version of the TDI puts out 240 hp:

I have ventured on to the TDI site a few times. They have a Jetta over there running in the 13's. It has European injectors some trick computer program by Wetterhauer, a complete different transmission, clutch and axles and propane injection. The owner has posted dyno numbers and track slips and pictures. The car was around 250/375 if I can remember right. That is a little less HP than a Stang and more TQ in a much lighter car. It is certainly not the norm... but either are most of our trucks. I can hang with any GT up to redline all day long from about a 40mph roll. I have beat dozens on the freeway... . it is a complete riot... . CJ

wxman..... i wasn't shooting the messenger, trust me. it just sounded hard to believe. not that it might not be true... i'd just maybe have to see it.

cobrajet... i just took out my mildly pumped 65 mustang GT fastback out of storage (i bought it in '81 had it restored by 87 and put it in storage in '90!!!) i haven't driven a performance car in a looooooong time. it had a lot of get up and go. i've got 275's in my truck, but if i wanted to go hot roddin' around i wouldn't jump into olga... . sorry guys.

Americana,

I have plenty of go fast cars parked around the house here as well... a couple of 428 SCJ's and two 65 Fastbacks. ... both K Cars. The 69 pictured below runs 11. 20's all day on street tires. Stock Mustangs are not that fast... high 14's in the qtr for new ones and mid 15's for just about everthing else. There are plenty of diesels out there capable of these times. It is no problem at all to keep up with them from a rolling start. A diesel Jetta capable of this doesn't surprize be in the least... surely not to the point of calling it "SWAMP LAND"..... CJ

cobrajet... . cool engine bay! a little filled!! i'll have to take your word for it. when i want to go fast the mustang anticipates it... the cummins thinks about it first.

now take into the the equation that my truck's not all that pumped. well, i guess i need to save some money for a box.

diesel freak... . if i could talk the girlfriend into it i'd give it some serious thought! she was against olga, but she knew that was a losing battle.

A Golf down in Ohio last weeked was running in the mid 16's. I don't know how BOMBed she was but it smoked more than a stocker so it was getting more fuel from somewhere

wcrovo..... people's car? you priced any vw's lately. great car, but you pay for it. last people's car was the original bug. cheap and easy to repair. never had one never will, but a great concept (and reality) none the less.

Yeah I have. They are alot of bang for the buck. The people make more bucks today. It dose seem our wages aren't keep'n pace.
