VW turbo ?

I have a '00 Beetle(see truck profile)1. 8T and a couple of days ago I lost boost. It usually gets 12-13 pounds of boost, but now it's getting 4-5. I checked all of the boost tubing and found a hole worn thru a rubber boost tube between the turbo and cooler. I got a replacement hose from VW and put it in today, but still only getting 4-5 pounds of boost. Since this first started the check engine light has been on. It stayed on even after I replaced the hose. When driving the car before, it pulled hard thru every gear. But now, it seems like it's defueling(or degassing)before the power kicks in in all the gears. The car has a chip, exhaust and air intake. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Have you tried www.tdiclub.com? They are pretty knowledgeable but no where near as good as the TDR.



I just bought an '01 Beetle TDI for business travel and these things are a lot of fun.
