I just receiced my new issue of Diesel Power and there was a small article about Dodge using the VW TDI 2. 0 in the new Dodge Caliber. We may soon have another new car in the garage if this goes good. TDI's now in VW,Audi and now Dodge. could these little diesels be the next Cummins of the compact world? Good to see I am very happy with my 03 Jetta 1. 9 TDI. 43. 5 mpg consistantly at around 75 mph.

Caliber diesel in Ca? Never!

I checked out the Caliber at the local Dodge dealership recently and was really pleased with the styling, fit, and finish. With the diesel option I'd be unstoppable. Fat chance in Ca. though.

My wife's been pushing for a new Caliber and I've been dragging my feet.

But if it goes TDI, it just might become reality! :)

I have heard that many euro built diesels will not be offered for 07 due to the new emissions I wonder if this would be a newly designed emissioned engine in 07 or if this will be an 08 offering? the article did not say.

Woah, now that is good news. A VW diesel in a Caliber would be worth owning. Hmm..... I do wish I would have gotten the TDI in my wife's Passat, but we went the cheap route and got the 1. 8 Turbo gasser.
